Introduction
Spenser Johnson book “Who Moved My Cheese?” that is an allegory for motivation shows in a very far-example leading life that if a person is a big believer in possibilities or being resolving to the occasion.
The book follows the story of four characters: The beast in question is Sniff who appears in the guise of the famous Mouse and we see Scurry another inhabitant of the Maze who happens to be very much cheese lover.
Industry, infrastructure, and urbanization are essential components of modern societies. Besides, the subject of my dissertation are Hem and Haw who are considered to be people who are the dwellers of the maze.
Here are some of who moved my cheese key concepts:
- The Maze and the Cheese: It is as if characters enter the maze alive, showing the labyrinth and losing in-game/challenges, and thus the novel portrays life. The advertisement also entails a story of the main character who ends up finding that big cheese meals (which the rich who have a good life can afford) but these only exist in a certain maze and this turn them extremely happy to eat them on a daily basis.
- Change Happens: One day, you visit your nearest supermarket and discover a drastic change. Instead of the shelves being heaped with different types of cheeses and the produce sections busy with people, the shelves are neat and empty. Above all, these new identities for Scurry and Sniff mean they leave their roles in The Game to find a new cheese as compared to Hem and Haw which choose to stay in their safe home by retreating from that offer to move out of their comfort zone.
- Adapting to Change: However, despite the fact of finding out other problems and production processes around as they are moving along their cheese eating journey, they kind of ignore those rats, and continue hunting for more cheese. Gone with the cheese now, Hem and Haw are to experience the fear of tremble, denial to change, hoping and praying for a miraculous return of the cheese, may be everything else, total disbelief but even so, they will still hold on to it.
- Embracing Change: In conclusion, this subjective experience of Haw, portrayed by the water waves will cease to appear and this realizes as the preceding is beat on the shore ceaselessly, therefore letting go enables him required towards the unknown and probably a better opportunity. He is writing to Hem to encourage her to take the trip because through it she would find herself and use her wings to soar into the air.
- Learning and Growth: As analogous to Haw who penetrated deep into the labyrinth not only to hunt the Minotaur, but also to look for the comprehension of the meaning of education and life, he ultimately discovered that the change, the tenderizing, and the character development are always interwoven. Through his own experience he finally understands that a person could never be successful if he does not change his objectives to the most probable futurism and if one starts the new activities in the most optimistic approach.
- Finding New Cheese: Next, after those battles, the search proves to be just a piece of cake. From there, the twins find themselves before a significantly larger cheese depot, which is so filled with cheese that they do not know which kind to choose. Finally, when he completes his journey and achieves what he had set his mind on, Liaroudis is proud of himself. Now, he is convinced that he can easily survive an environment like this and he understands that he can achieve whatever he wants if he puts his mind to it. He still seems to enjoy the various life-changing experiences he has, like adaptation, courage, and stamina, alike.
- The Power of Perspective: It is the turning-point that the author makes by showing spiritual changes of characters leading the author to discover the point of it all as well the ones of views and perspectives. Adaptability is the key to survive when the world is in favor of the ones who dare to step into the unknown, be pro-active and open-minded, and are not put off by uncertainty and risk.
- Applying the Lessons: The book finishes its discussion with the one-liner asking the readers to strive to be a part of the lives which are transformed and improved while cherishing values from the book. It sets us free from the routine and helps to overcome the trepidation, taking many important decisions like change the place of living or take advantage of the best available opportunities.
So, the last message of this essay can be summed up in one sentence if you want to be strong in both life and career you should look for opportunities rather than circumstances. The key objective is of being adaptable, flexible, and keeping the right attitude with the eventual career goal through the change of skylines in the life of a traveler irrespective of the seniority level.
